SYMPTOMS

Consider the following scenario:

• You have a Microsoft Windows Server 2008-based computer that has Hyper-V installed.
• You are running a Windows Vista Home Basic or a Windows Vista Home Premium virtual machine on the computer.
• You install Hyper-V Integration Services on the virtual machine.

In this scenario, you experience the following issues:

• Mouse integration does not work correctly.
• An Unknown device is listed in Device Manager. A yellow circle with a black exclamation point on it appears next to the Unknown device.

These issues occur even though you receive a message that states that the services are installed correctly at the end of the Integration Services Setup.

Additionally, you receive the following error message if you reinstall the Integration Services:

An error has occurred: One of the update processes has returned error code 1.
