Windows Vista custom toolbar may be unusable after undocking or removing a second monitor

Action

After undocking or removing a second monitor on a Windows Vista based computer, custom toolbars set to Autohide will be transparent and blank. 

Resolution

To bring back the shortcuts on the toolbar, do one of the following:

1.  Prior to disconnecting the second monitor, right-click the toolbar and unselect Autohide.

2.  Disconnect the second monitor.

3. Re-enable Autohide. 

or

1.  Log off and log back on.
