SYMPTOMS

You use the Run As shortcut menu to start Windows Internet Explorer 7. After you do this, you visit a Web page in which several child windows will open. However, more child windows may open than you expect.

This issue may occur in Internet Explorer 7 on a computer that is running one of the following operating systems:

• Windows Vista
• Windows Server 2003
• Windows XP Service Pack 2

This issue may also occur in Internet Explorer 6 on a computer that is running Windows XP Service Pack 2.

CAUSE

This issue occurs because Internet Explorer 7 cannot resolve the window target name when you use the Run As shortcut menu to start Internet Explorer 7.
