MORE INFORMATION

Known issues in this service pack and how to work around those issues

• For multiple editions of Visual Studio 2008, Microsoft supports only those scenarios in which all editions are at the same service pack level. If there are multiple language versions or multiple editions of Visual Studio 2008 on a computer, all must be at the same level to be supported by Microsoft. For example, all versions or editions must be at the RTM level or at the SP1 level.
• You cannot install this service pack if you have a beta version of Silverlight installed on your computer.

Features and functionalities that are added, changed, or improved

New features and functionalities

• Dynamic Data
This feature enables the automatic generation of user interface scaffolding based on existing database schemas and on Entity Framework object models.

This feature enables you to route control from incoming URLs to arbitrary managed types based on pattern matching. The feature also allows for the generation of URLs based on the same patterns. The Dynamic Data feature and the out-of-band (OOB) ASP.NET Model-View-Controller (MVC) release use the URL Routing feature.
• New AJAX functionalities in the following areas:

• History management
• Integration with the forward button and with the back button in a browser.
• Script combining to enable a more efficient delivery of Javascript.
