CAUSE

This issue occurs because SQL Server 2005 Express Edition cannot be installed on some high-end computers that use Advanced Host Controller Interface (AHCI) hard drives. Additionally, this issue may affect localized versions of Windows that are running localized versions of Office and Outlook 2007 with Business Contact Manager.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, install SQL Server 2005 Express Edition Service Pack 2 (SP2) together with Outlook 2007 with Business Contact Manager. To do this, follow these steps:

1. Copy the Outlook 2007 with Business Contact Manager installation media to the hard disk.
2. In the Outlook 2007 with Business Contact Manager folder that you copied to the hard disk, locate and then open the SSE folder.
3. In the SSE folder, right-click the Sqlexpr.exe file, and then click Rename.
4. Type Sqlexpr.old, and then press ENTER.
5. Download and then save the SQL Server 2005 Express Edition SP2 installation file (Sqlexpr.exe) to the SSE folder on the hard disk. To download the Sqlexpr.exe file, visit the following Microsoft Web site:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=31711D5D-725C-4AFA-9D65-E4465CDFF1E7 (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=31711D5D-725C-4AFA-9D65-E4465CDFF1E7)

Note Localized versions of the SQL Server 2005 Express Edition SP2 installation file will have file names that resemble Sqlexpr_deu.exe. Rename the files to Sqlexpr.exe.

6. Reinstall Outlook 2007 with Business Contact Manager by double-clicking the Setup.exe file in the Outlook 2007 with Business Contact Manager folder that you copied to the hard disk.
