You can configure the PstDisableGrow registry entry to prevent Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 from creating new items in a .pst file. To do this, follow these steps:

1. Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK.
2. Locate and then click the following registry subkey:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER Software Microsoft Office 12.0 Outlook PST
3. On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click DWORD Value.
4. Type PstDisableGrow, and then press ENTER.
5. Right-click PstDisableGrow, and then click Modify.
6. In the Value data box, type 1, and then click OK.
7. Exit Registry Editor.

After you complete this procedure, you may want to use MAPI applications to create new items in a .pst file when the PstDisableGrow registry entry is configured. To do this, apply the 953925 hotfix package .
